Job Title: Assistant Leader 
Salary: HK$69 or $84 per hour (Depends on types of activities) 
Entry Requirements: Applicants should:
(a) be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region aged 18 or above;
(b) have attained an education level of Form 3 or equivalent; and
(c) possess good command of spoken Cantonese and be able to speak English.

Preference may be given to applicants whose posses with the following:

(a) Have attained an education level of Form 5 or above or equivalent;
(b) An average command of spoken English, a basic command of Putonghua; as well as writing and reading skills in Chinese and English;
(c) Knowledge of Chinese and English word processing, general software applications (such as Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint) and knowledge of computer graphics software applications;
(d) Experience and basic knowledge of organising recreation and sports programmes or horticultural activities;
(e) possess at least 3 years of work experience in organising recreation and sports programmes (for apply organizer and key official posts).
(f) A valid First Aid Certificate / life-saving certificate;
(g) Experience in volunteer services; and
(h) Holder of relevant certificate in sign language translation (including valid reference letter of relevant experience issued from employing institutions) or basic knowledge of organising recreation and sports programmes for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and relevant experience.

(Position will be assigned according to the programme operation needs and performance) 
Note: (1) “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3)‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. 
Duties: (a) To assist leader to organize recreation and sports activities including excursions and hiking;
(b) To take care of participant and assist in crowd control; and
(c) To handle general enquiries and ad hoc incidents.

Requirements for Assistant Leader (if applicable):
- Assistant Leaders for hiking should possess a Level I Mountain Craft Training Certificate issued by the Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union Limited. 
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the department’s operational need and the work performance and conduct of the appointee. 
General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. (c) Any application which is incomplete, submitted without relevant supporting documents, late or not duly signed will not be considered.
(d) Applicants selected for an interview will usually be notified within 4 to 5 weeks after the closing date. Applicants not invited for an interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
