Entry Requirements:
Applicants should [Note (a)]:
(a) have a bachelor’s degree from a local university, or equivalent;
(b) have a minimum of five years’ full-time post-qualification relevant working experience in executive/operational support, meeting and event management (relevant experience in the Government is preferable);
(c) have attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent [Note (b)];
(d) have good comprehension, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle a range of administrative tasks and deliver quality support in fast-paced environments;
(e) have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English;
(f) be mature, highly organised, pro-active, detail-minded, self-disciplined and self-motivated; able to multitask, prioritise work independently, and work long or irregular hours when required; and
(g) be proficient in the application of common business software (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader).
Note:
(a) Applicants will not be considered if they fail to meet items (a), (b) and (c) specified in the entry requirements above by the closing date for application.
(b) For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(c) Experience of internship, freelance or voluntary work will not be considered as full-time working experience.
Duties:
(a) To assist in providing executive and operational support for the Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office, including funding scheme management, management of financial and human resources, procurement, record management, general office support, office accommodation/relocation, fitting-out works, provision of information technology service, etc.;
(b) To assist in liaising, coordinating and collating inputs/returns from internal offices and bureaux/departments;
(c) To arrange site visits/field trips and to provide logistical arrangements including recces, trial run of the vehicle routes, on-site coordination, etc.;
(d) To provide executive and secretariat support in internal meetings or meetings with external stakeholders;
(e) To assist in organising studies and researches, and compiling and analysing data and information;
(f) To assist in receiving different delegations visiting the Northern Metropolis;
(g) To assist in handling complaints/enquiries in consultation with relevant bureaux/departments; and
(h) To undertake ad hoc duties as assigned by senior officers.
Successful candidate will be required to perform outdoor duties and may work outside Hong Kong.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for an initial period of one year. Renewal of contract will be subject to service needs of the Bureau as well as performance and conduct of the candidate.
Fringe Benefits
(a) 14 days paid annual leave in respect of each leave year will be granted for employment under a continuous contract for not less than 12 months.
(b) Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
(c) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
General Notes:
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. (ii) proof of relevant full-time post-qualification working experience as PDF attachment. Working experience without proof/not supported by legible proof will not be counted towards the required duration of working experience; and
(iii) certificate of academic qualification and proof of meeting language proficiency requirements.
