$83,975 per month
Entry Requirements:
(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent [See Note (iii)];
(b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (iii)];
(c) Met the language proficiency requirement of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [see Note (iv)];
(d) A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test [see Note (vi)];
(e) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification [as specified in (a) and (b)] experience in teaching and curriculum development in primary/secondary schools. Candidates with a higher degree, such as a Master's or Doctoral degree, in a discipline relevant to Information Technology, Science, Engineering or Technology, and experience in implementing curriculum development and projects in relation to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and promoting digital education (DE), innovation and technology (I&T) education, Technology Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education preferred [See Note (v)];
(f) Sound knowledge of the local education system and the curriculum development, and knowledge of current trends in digital education, innovation and technology in local and international settings; and
(g) Candidates may be required to take a written test on the day of selection interview.
Note:
(i) The application period for the post of Curriculum Officer [School-based Curriculum Development (Primary) / Technology Education] is from 17 July 2026 (Friday) to 31 July 2026 (Friday).
(ii) For general awareness, a locally-accredited Hong Kong bachelor's degree is at Level 5 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF). While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 5, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only bachelor's degree in the relevant subjects is acceptable. (iii) Candidates should mark clearly on their application forms the major and minor subjects studied in their degree courses. Candidates possessing additional qualifications (e.g. a higher degree in a relevant subject) should include details in their applications.
(iv) Candidates' results in the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers of CRE are classified as 'Level 2', 'Level 1' or 'Fail', with 'Level 2' being the highest. Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE); or Grade 'C' or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) are accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' in the UC paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSE; or Grade 'C' or above in Use of English of the HKALE; or 'C' or above in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level), are accepted as equivalent to 'Level 2' in the UE paper of the CRE. Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test are considered as having met the English language proficiency requirement of the Curriculum Officer post. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period.
(v) Candidates should state the nature and relevancy of the post-qualification experience.
(vi) A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test is an entry requirement for Curriculum Officer jobs in the Education Bureau. All applicants for Curriculum Officer jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. Only those candidates who have passed the Basic Law and National Security Law Test will be considered for appointment.
Duties:
(a) To render on-site support services in primary schools for school curriculum development in Primary Technology and other interdisciplinary curriculum and implementing education policy initiatives such as digital education (DE), innovation and technology (I&T) education, Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, and values education;
(b) To develop effective learning, teaching and assessment strategies and curriculum resources in enhancing student learning;
(c) To facilitate the conceptualisation of evidence-informed practices to generate contextual knowledge in school-based curriculum planning, teaching, learning and assessment;
(d) To develop and disseminate good practices in school-based curriculum to principals and teachers in primary schools through various means;
(e) To develop and enhance professional capacities of curriculum leaders;
(f) To assist in administrative duties of the Section; and
(g) To perform any other duties assigned as when required.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2.5 years.
Fringe Benefits
(a) 18 days annual leave, whereas rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(c) Other fringe benefits include medical and dental benefits and, where appropriate, housing benefits.
