Job Title: Shelter Assistant (Part-time) 
Salary: Day Shift (0830-1730): $59 per hour
Night Shift (1730-0830): $75 per hour 
Entry Requirements: (a) Obtained education level at Primary 6 or above, or equivalent;
(b) Be able to speak fluent Cantonese and write Chinese;
(c) Be able to speak, read and write simple English;
(d) Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience. 
Note: (a) To work mainly in Central and Western District. Outdoor duties may be required.
(b) Irregular hours, required to work on weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays and work overnight. 
Duties: (a) To assist in the operation of the Home Affairs Department’s temporary shelters in Community Halls and Community Centres when activated, including registration of shelter users, distributing meals, handling enquiries and complaints, patrolling the shelter and overseeing the work of contractual staff ; and
(b) To handle any other appropriate duties assigned 
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms

General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. The form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). The completed application form, together with photocopies of academic certificates and employment proofs (e.g. employment certificates, reference letters, etc.), should reach the address below by post or in person no later than the closing date for applications. For submission by post, the deadline is based on the stamp chop date. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application.
