Job Title: Printing Technician II (Finishing stream) 
Salary: Master Pay Scale Point 6 ($17,855 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 10 ($22,865 per month) 
Entry Requirements: Candidates should have – (a) (i) completed an approved and relevant printing apprenticeship; or (ii) completed Secondary 3, or requivalent, plus three years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry; or (iii) completed Primary 6, or equivalent, plus six years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry; or (iv) a Diploma in Vocational Studies in Advertising, Packaging and Printing or a Technician Foundation Certificate in Printing Digital Workflow Production from the Vocational Training Council, or equivalent; plus two years’ relevant working experience in the printing industry;
(b) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese Language and English Language equivalent to Primary 6 standard. 
Note: (i) Candidates will be required to pass a trade test.
(ii) For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their BL knowledge. The BL test result will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects. 
Duties: A Printing Technician II in the Finishing stream is mainly deployed on supervising subordinates and operating the machines in the print finishing process; maintaining and adjusting the machines for proper operation; performing hand-binding work; and when necessary, moving and loading of printed matters. A Printing Technician II is required to wear uniform, work shifts and, when necessary, perform overtime work; and is subject to posting to different bureaux and departments. 
Terms of Appointment: A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms. 
General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(h) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the interview without being subject to further shortlisting. (i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
