HK$16,755 per month
(a) A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Design from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical college / technical institute, or equivalent, for which at least specialized in one of the following subjects: Visual Communication Design, Advertising Design, Multimedia Design, Environmental Design, Product Design, or equivalent;
(b) Meeting the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [See Note (1)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
(c) Good knowledge in computer applications including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Sketchup (or equivalent 3D software on Mac platform).
(d) Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and word-processing in both Chinese and English;
(e) At least 2 years' full-time post-qualification working experience in design;
(f) Knowledge in photography, videography, animation, photo and video editing, page making and online publishing will be an advantage;
(g) Knowledge in library and cultural services, including performing arts, museums and films, will be an advantage; and
(h) Possession of creative mind, art and marketing sense.
(1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Application which did not provide all information as requested or which are not clear that the candidates have met the entry requirements will not be considered.
(3) All qualifications required should be obtained on or before the application deadline. Qualifications obtained after the application deadline will not be considered.
(4) Applicants who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be required to provide their portfolio on the day of interview.
(a) the design services on contents in online platforms and social media and offline marketing materials such as banners, posters, pamphlets, publications and exhibition display;
(b) the production of artwork and technical drawing for printing and construction works;
(c) product design, photo shooting, photo and video editing; and
(d) performing any other duties as required.
Note : Appointee may be required to work irregular hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus the Government's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave / paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates with their applications by mail to the enquiry address.

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centre of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed forms should reach the enquiry address on or before the closing date for application (The postmark will be referred to for the submission date of applications by mail). Please state "Application for the position of Non-civil Service Contract Designer II" on the envelope. Applications which are late, incomplete, without signature or submitted through e-mails or fax will not be considered. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the enquiry address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. Applicants who are not invited for interview in about 14 weeks from the closing date for application may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
