Corporate Communications Co-ordinator
HK$78,380 per month
(Successful candidate with additional recognised working experience at senior level may be offered a higher salary.)
Candidates should have -
(a) a bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or other related disciplines;
(b) at least 10 years' solid post-qualification working experience in corporate communications or public affairs, of which 5 years should be at managerial/senior level formulating and implementing strategies and managing multiple publicity and promotional campaigns/projects in a large organisation. Candidates with at least 8 years' highly relevant post-qualification working experience may also be considered;
(c) strong oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, with level 3 or above in both Chinese Language and English language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note);
(d) strong planning and organisational skills as well as ability to be a good team player; and
(e) experience in operating social media platforms is an advantage.
'Grade C' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
The Corporate Communications Co-ordinator will mainly be responsible for -
(a) development, implementation and maintenance of an integrated corporate communications strategy for the Department of Justice (DoJ);
(b) in cooperation with subject officers, proactive creation of corporate communications content, including articulation of DoJ's corporate messages (e.g. initiatives by Inclusive Dispute and Avoidance Resolution Office (IDAR Office) and Legal Divisions) and development of high quality, well-researched and well-written products and promotional materials including advertorials, publications, online/social media materials, videos, newsletters, etc. in a variety of traditional and digital social media;
(c) initiating and coordinating publicity work and assisting in determining and producing content and materials to be used for promoting initiatives of the IDAR Office and other DoJ initiatives, including at DoJ events and functions, and corporate communications, including social media platforms, with a view to outreaching to local, regional and international target audiences;
(d) development, maintenance and implementation of a social media strategy for DoJ to increase awareness of DoJ corporate messages by increasing hit rates and engagement on a variety of social media platforms;
(e) development, maintenance and implementation of a website strategy for DoJ to further upgrade the DoJ and Legal Hub websites;
(f) monitoring trends in social media tools, applications, platforms, designs and strategies and conducting research on local and overseas practices in respect of the use of social media by government, statutory bodies, non-profit organisations, legal and other professional bodies and other relevant organisations in Hong Kong and elsewhere;
(g) revamping and coordinating the production of the DoJ Newsletter; and
(h) advising and assisting in any other corporate communications matters as required.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for two years. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of DoJ and the appointee's performance.
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the contract.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/recruitment examination without being subject to further shortlisting. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
