Contract Registration Officer
HK$14,780 per month
(a)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent (Note1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note2) , or equivalent; or (ii) Level 2 (Note3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examinatio n (HKCEE)(Note2), or equivalent;
(b) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2(Note3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and be able to speak Cantonese and English; and
(c) be familiar with the application of common business software including good spreadsheet and word processing skills.
(1) “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3) ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
A Contract Registration Officer will mainly be deployed to any smart identity card replacement centres or other offices of the Immigration Department performing multi-tasks involving customer service, clerical or secretarial duties relating to one or a combination of the following areas: (a) Processing Applications relating to Hong Kong Identity Card matters; (b) Customer Service; (c) General Clerical Support; and (d) Other duties as assigned.
Note: A Contract Registration Officer may be required to work irregular hours or shifts, wear uniform at work, work in remote areas or perform outdoor duties.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non civil service contract terms for one year from the date of appointment. Renewal of contract is subject to service needs, satisfactory performance and conduct during the employment period.
An end of contract gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus the contribution made by the HKSAR Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They may be required to submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates for assessment purpose.
(h) As invitations or notifications may be sent to applicants by e-mails, applicants should provide an accurate e-mail address in their application forms. Applicants are responsible for checking their e-mails to ensure that invitation or notification will be duly received.
(i) Towards the application deadline, our on-line system would likely be overloaded due to large volume of applications. To ensure timely completion of your on-line application, it is advisable to submit the application as early as possible.

Application Forms [G.F.340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department, or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application forms should be sent by post to the Identity Card (Operations Support) Section, Room 210-212 and 216-218, 2/F, Shui On Centre, 6–8 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong on or before the closing date (the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission of application. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid and return address is indicated. An applicant will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage. Please quote the post title applied for and mark “Application – Restricted” on the cover. Those late applications, incomplete applications or applications submitted by fax or e-mail will NOT be considered. Applicants who are not invited for selection interview within 12 weeks from the closing date may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
